About the Owners

The team that owns B Street Design created a vision of cosmetology schools. In 1987, Joe Hancock and Mary Kay Mitchell opened B Street Design. In 1995, they added another valuable team player – Bill Hancock. The trio still owns and operates B Street Design.

Joe Hancock is a cosmetologist. He started in the beauty school business in 1985 in Wichita, Kansas. Joe then left for Kansas City, Kansas, to open a cosmetology school in 1991. It is Joe's goal to provide the latest technology for his students. He is also on the board of directors for Region VII Private Career Colleges & Schools.

Mary Kay Mitchell is first and foremost a cosmetologist. Her passion for beauty matches her knowledge for the business. Mary Kay and Joe have worked as cosmetologists since 1986. The team came together to form B Street Design in 1987.

Bill Hancock joined the team in 1995. He has a great understanding of beauty and cosmetology schools. Bill served as a member on the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a burning passion for cosmetology to the table.
