Our cosmetology training program is a 1,500-hour course that full-time students can complete in 10 months! We offer part-time Cosmetology training in our Kansas locations as well.
Through our Cosmetology training program, you can learn the essentials in hair and even nail technology and esthetics. We offer Nail Technology and Esthetics as stand-alone programs, as well.

Upon completion of our cosmetology programs, you should have the knowledge to take the Kansas Board of Cosmetology licensed exam to work as a cosmetologist. Our unique approach to cosmetology training is broken into 4 levels.
Level 1: Key Essential Fundamentals
Length: 3 months
Through the first part of your cosmetology training at one of our cosmetology schools in Kansas City, Manhattan, Topeka or Wichita, you will concentrate on both practical and theoretical concepts. B Street Design hairdressing schools help you learn the foundation for:

During the second part of your beautician courses, we focus on the artistic process. You will learn how to market and sell merchandise to clients in Kansas. These skills can help if you choose to open your own salon. You will also start organizing your portfolio, which will be an ongoing project throughout your cosmetology training.
You also will start practicing your skills in a salon-like environment on clients, all overseen by our valued instructors.
Level 3: Salon Business/Salon and Day Spa Training
Length: 3 months
At this point, you will start to develop a plan for opening and running your own salon successfully. Our faculty will instruct you on the more advanced treatments that you will perform in a day spa. You will also complete your resumé.
You will finish this portion of the cosmetology training by preparing for the State Board written licensure exam in Kansas. This exam may be taken at the completion of 1,000 clock hours.
Level 4: Advanced Training
Length: 3 months
The last level is reserved for students who have completed previous levels successfully and passed the State Board written licensure exam.
At this point, we will provide advanced cosmetology training using industry leaders to assist us. Techniques change constantly in our industry. It is our goal to deliver the most current and state-of-the-art advanced beautician courses in Kansas.
